Who is behind Emerson’s Crocheting?

My name is Emily Emerson. Growing up, I spent most of my free time with my paternal grandmother and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be here today sharing my passion. She told me for years I ought to make my passion into a small business!

How did we get here?

20 years ago, I taught myself to crochet when my grandmother couldn’t learn to crochet. At this time, Youtube was still young and there wasn’t a crochet/knitting community yet. Over the years, I would make items and sell them through a cousins shop, gave scarves to nurses I had at a Children’s hospital, or gave items out to family and friends while at times friends paid for the items. Over time, I wanted to create this website and a youtube channel but, put it off for years due to uncertainty and being scared I would be harshly judged if things didn’t explode. Six years ago I finally set aside my thoughts and just went for it so thank you for being here!

Starting a new venture is never easy but with support from you makes all the difference! Currently, I help my husband pay bills, I homeschool our children, and am active within the community through various organizations.
